First Call Operative

Are you interested in joining our Emergency Metering Services? We have an exciting opportunity for 6 new First  Call Operatives to join our Emergency Metering Services in Swindon, Trowbridge/Bath, Torquay, Plymouth and Gloucester. The job holders carry out work including three core processes of Emergency Services, Network Development and Network Maintenance, and will carry out a range of duties as required by the business needs.  We are looking for people that want to make a difference in a business that serves millions of people and can contribute to a cost effective and customer focused service as an individual or as a team leader.  Role purpose:   attendance at public reported escapes and other related aspects;   participate in the provision of an emergency service which must be delivered in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner;   classification and where appropriate deferment of gas escapes, testing, survey, detection and diagnostic work on the WWU network and in gas consumer's premises; and   installation, maintenance, replacement and removal of meters. The job holder must have current ACS domestic core gas qualification or NVQ level 3 equivalent. Requirement to participate in a call-out rota.
